Casa Ceibo Boutique Hotel & Spa is a virtual museum of art. The hotel was constructed using local artisans, craftsmen, designers and architects. It features almost 100 percent local products and materials — everything from handcrafted furniture to a decadent diversity of beautifully polished woods, native ceremics, fosslized decorative accent pieces and South American artwork.

In fact, guests who love or know a little something about South America's artists are often impressed to discover that Casa Ceibo has original works from Pablo Mora and Eduardo Vega. Mora's signature stained-glass windows, tiles and accessories, along with Vega's famous ceremic murals, plates and more, color the hotel with delicate, dancing light, textures and tones.

Meanwhile, original masterpieces, representing some of the country's most respected painters, are museum-hung and line the hotel's long, upper hallway. Directly underneath, one floor down, guests can tour a second corridor that showcases the past life of Bahía de Caráquez, thanks to an exclusive collection of historical photographs.

The hotel's gardens and landscaping paint a portrait of a beauty. The kaleidoscope of seemingly idyllic flowers and greens comprise over 10 species of palms and 40 species of native flowers —violet and gold Lantanas, blood-red Ixora, fire-hued flame trees, lavender Morning Glories, to name a few.
