Water Purification Program

It was a real eye-opener for Casa Ceibo to learn that the number-one cause for disease in Ecuador is directly related to contaminated water, according to recent studies by Ecuador’s health department.

Ingesting contaminated water or the absence of drinkable water increases occurrences of illness, putting communities throughout Ecuador and the region surrounding Casa Ceibo at risk. In response, Casa Ceibo has partnered with Agua Muisne and the Unidad Educativa Satiasay to provide safe drinking water to the community, prevent water-borne illnesses and teach locals about good health. They are currently working on a new water purification project that will sell clean water to the local community at a lower price (roughly a quarter of the usual price). The goal is to provide people with drinkable water at any time.
