Eco-Initiatives & Community Outreach

From the very start, Casa Ceibo Boutique Hotel & Spa has sought to make its “little corner of the world” a better place. The hotel is an exquisite tribute to Ecuador and an expression of its attractive people and rich, diverse culture. It’s also an organization of people who are determined to preserve and enhance what’s truly special about Ecuador. As such, Casa Ceibo has embraced the opportunity to support the local community, culture and environment through a number of social outreach projects and eco-initiatives.

Because of the hotel’s contribution to the community and environment, Casa Ceibo is certified by Smart Voyager (http://ccd.ec/pages/smart_voyager_en.htm). This Ecuadorian program gives its green seal of approval to hotels for meeting strict conservation and sustainability guidelines. Smart Voyager Certification signals to consumers that their dollars are not contributing to the exploitation of labor and the environment.

In addition, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (http://www.stardiamondaward.com) had awarded Casa Ceibo with the first ever Green Star Diamond Award in all of South America. This elite honor recognizes the hotel’s Smart Voyager certification, commitment to eco-initiatives and community outreach, as well as its five-star status.

Casa Ceibo’s eco-initiatives and community outreach include but are not limited to:
